From Pasture to Spoon: An Afternoon Exploring the Biodynamic Dairy Cycle at Hawthorne Valley Farm

Join us for an afternoon at Hawthorne Valley Farm and experience first-hand how “beautifully complex” biodynamic practices enhance their dairy output as well as the environment as a whole. We’ll hear from Hawthorne Valley’s Executive Director, Martin Ping, and Creamery and Dairy Herd managers, Jeremy Shapiro and Jess Brobst respectively, about the multilayered and regenerative nature of their work. A tour of the creamery, a chance to help bring the dairy cows in from pasture—and even experience milking first hand—will be followed by a tasting of fresh yogurt made all the more delicious by its biodynamic bonafides. Come early to grab some lunch at Hawthorne Valley’s acclaimed Farm Store or stop on the way out to stock up for home! This event is suitable for ages 8 and up.
