Manager of Programming – Full Time
Who We Are: Dirty Gaia HV, Inc. is a small regionally-based non-profit organization whose mission is to educate, engage, and inspire local communities to act as stewards of their places. We build awareness through educational programs, including workshops, presentations, film presentations and nature walks.

You’re outgoing and a collaborator who enjoys reaching out to other eco-supporters in a wide variety of related fields (from soil health to birding, growing gardens for pollinators to foraging) to see how we can work in concert to protect and nurture Nature on every level.
Job Description: We are seeking a motivated, outgoing, passionate, and organized individual to maintain existing and develop new programming. Reporting directly to the founder, this role involves managing initiatives, organizing events, and fostering partnerships to support Dirty Gaia’s mission and programs.
This full time regular position is expected to work 32-40 hours a week, with some office hours in Rhinecliff, NY. This is a flexible hybrid remote/in-person position. An office computer and printer will be available in the office. Some weekend and evening work is required for Dirty Gaia events.
Use of a personal vehicle is required, gas is reimbursed at the IRS rate.
Annual compensation commensurate with experience.

Key Responsibilities:
Program Development and Management
- Manage and implement annual Dirty Gaia events, including Winter Seed Swap and Sow, Annual Garden Tour, Gardener’s Roundtable, and Walk the Land series.
- Survey what programs already exist in our community and what niche we might fill or augment. Develop ideas for new programs, based on this research as well as the Programming Questionnaire. Develop a long term plan.
- Manage the prioritizing of projects and their timelines and required resources.
- Work with the Director to identify grant needs and oversee grant writers, as needed.
Community Engagement and Collaborations:
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with schools, businesses, individuals, and community groups to support collaborative projects and events. Examples include the Cornell Cooperative Extensions, Master Gardeners groups, Foragers, and others.
- Serve as the spokesperson of the organization at internal and external events.
Communication and Marketing:
- Develop and distribute promotional materials, including social media posts, blogs, email newsletters, event announcements, and press releases.
- Maintain the website and Instagram feed, ensuring content accuracy, relevance, and optimal user experience.
- Field incoming calls and emails, responding promptly and efficiently, providing information, and directing calls to the appropriate individuals or partners.
Personnel Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for consultants.
- Delegate tasks and oversee consultants and interns including the onboarding of a new Office Coordinator.
- Facilitate onboarding for new interns and consultants, ensuring a smooth integration and understanding of our organization’s goals and values.
Event & Program Logistics and Implementation
- Manage and coordinate logistics for various events from conception to completion, including event promotion, registration, facilitation, materials procurement, coordination with presenter and/or collaborator, follow-up, and debriefing.
Office Management: After you are ‘onboarded’ we will be hiring for an office coordinator after which time, these duties will be delegated to that person.
- Manage day-to-day administrative operations.
- Create office standards for filing electronically and on paper.
- Organize Dirty Gaia online filing system and naming conventions for docs and photos
- Maintain a subscriber database.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or related experience (biology, ecology, natural resources management, or related field a plus). Strong commitment to environmental issues and ecological principles. A plus, if the person also has a strong understanding of organic farming and gardening.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work collaboratively.
- Experience with Google Workspace, Canva and WordPress, Eventbrite, Mailchimp and Meetup a plus.
