Winter Sowing Workshop
Join us for a hands-on workshop to learn how to start your garden right now, in the dead of winter!
Did you know you can sow pretty much everything, from lettuces, vegetables and flowers to herbs and tomatoes, months before spring? We’ll show you how to convert milk or water jugs and plastic salad containers into miniature winter-proof greenhouses and get them growing. The resulting seedlings can be planted in pots or plots when the weather warms, and you’ll be on your way to harvesting delicious fresh produce.
Bring your own seeds, or use some of ours. Everyone will go home with two planted containers. New and experienced gardeners welcome!
The workshop will be held at The O Zone, 143 Pitcher Lane, Red Hook, NY. (#theozonecenter). Registration is required. Participants will be asked to show proof of vaccination and to wear a mask. For questions please contact Kaitlin, kaitlin@dirtygaia.org.
